There are currently many mobile phone providers for business within the Irish market.
The options available are Vodafone, O2, 3 and eircom mobile
-Which provider can give me the best mobile package?
The answer for this question is different for every user. ORL Consultants can analyse the customers call profile and identify the best available packages for the customer.
-I still have time left in my contract with my current mobile provider; does this mean I cannot change to another mobile provider?
You can move at any time in your contract but there will be a 'buyout' fee. This fee is usually the package charge per month for the remaining months of teh contract time.
Depending on the buyout amount, some mobile providers are willing to cover the buyout cost as part of your new package with them.
It is always worth looking at your current package and comparing them with alternative providers.
-I need my mobile at all times, if I change provider will I lose service?
If you change provider you will usually receive a new phone with the new providers SIM card already in the device.
When your current device loses signal you simply turn off your old device and turn on your new device. You have now transferred to your new provider without any down time.
-I have entered my pin number 3 times wrong; I now need a PUK code. What is this and where can I get it?
A PUK code is a 'Personal Unlocking Code'. This is a security setting on your phone.
To obtain your PUK code you need to contact your provider and request the code. This can be provided instantly. The PUK code is also supplied with your original paperwork received with your phone.
-When will I be entitled to an upgrade?
Mobile phone upgrades are usually available to customers after 12 months in contract.
Sometimes it is possible to obtain an upgrade before the 12 month contract is up, usually when there is a large monthly spend.
-Where can I get my mobile account number?
The customer mobile account number is at the top of the front page of their paper bill & can also be found on the online billing
-I travel a lot and require internet access when I’m on the road, what is mobile broadband?
Mobile broadband is a service provided by mobile companies in Ireland. It requires a laptop with a USB connector. Mobile broadband can be used in many areas of the country but the speed available will depend on the strength of the local signal.
